Quality of Life for Aging Veterans
According to a 2013 census, there are over 9.3 million military veterans age 65 or older living in the United States. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude for serving in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf. But, beyond gratitude, and in addition to medical benefits from the Veterans Administration, these American heroes also deserve a lesser known benefit, called Aid and Attendance, or A&A. This service covers the cost of caregivers in the home, or in an assisted living or nursing home environment., which can have a significant impact on families who struggle to pay for care.
Locally based VetAttend not only provides quality home care services to war-time veterans and their surviving spouses, they also assist with the daunting process of completing the A&A application, providing documentation, submitting completed documents to the VA, and continuing case management to monitor the application until complete.
If you know someone who could benefit from these services, or if you’d like to contribute to this worthy organization, call (985) 778-2775 or visit vetattend.com.
